Located in Knox County Schools Region 4, Corryton Elementary School is one of the oldest schools in the district and has proudly served generations of families since opening its doors in 1914.
Nestled atop a hill in the heart of the beautiful Corryton community and in the shadow of House Mountain, Corryton Elementary has long been a cornerstone of learning, tradition, and community pride. While our school has grown and evolved over the years, our commitment to students remains unchanged.

We strive to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Through strong partnerships with families and the community, we work together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, lead, and succeed.

Principal Leigh Anna McCann
Dr. McCann is a seasoned educator and school leader with two decades of experience serving in a variety of educational roles. She began her career with Knox County Schools in 2006 as a teacher and later served as an instructional coach, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal. She joined Corryton Elementary School for the 2025–2026 school year and is proud to serve as part of the Corryton school family.
Dr. McCann holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Tennessee Technological University. She also earned an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee and a Doctor of Education in Administrative Leadership from Carson-Newman University.
