About Us
Located in Board of Education District and KCS Region 4, Corryton Elementary School is the newest school in the district.
Opened in 1914, the school is situated on a hilltop in the beautiful Corryton community, in the shadow of House Mountain.
Principal Leigh Anna McCann
Mrs. McCann is a seasoned educator and school leader with two decades of experience in various educational roles. She began her career with Knox County Schools in 2008 as a teacher, and then later as an instructional coach, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal. She joined Corryton Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year and is proud to serve as part of our school family!
Mrs. McCann holds a bachelor’s degree in Education, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Tennessee Technological University; an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee, and she is currently completing her doctorate in Administrative Leadership at Carson-Newman University.
